Interview with Samuel and Awet
A couple of weeks ago we got a school task which said we were going to make an interview with two refugees. We talked with two men from Eritrea. Samuel and Awet are their names, and they live and go at school only 200 meters from our school here in Gjemnes.
These two refugees came from Eritrea because it isn't a democracy, and they had to save their lives. They chose Norway because Norway is a democracy and a nice country.

How did you come to Norway?
-We came here by going through some African countries before we travelled with boat from Africa to Italy, and bus further. Every night, they travelled because Samuel and Awet couldn't travel at daytime-We have siblings and children at home in Eritrea, and miss them a lot.
-We want to return back to Eritrea if it becomes a democracy, but if not, our dream is to get a great job and learn NorwegianWe think Norwegians are kind and nice people.

Can you tell something from your home country?
Eritrea became free in 1991. Eritrea is located east in Africa and is a very small country, but we have about as many inhabitants as Norway. The issue in Eritrea is that many are forced to be soldiers and no one knows for how long.

Are there any activities here in Norway you have tried and enjoy?
- Wlike to play football and listen to musicWe think the winter and the snow is cold, and we have tried to go skiing and find it difficult.

  1. Very nice interview, and don't you feel it's nice to learn from, and become friends, with our new Norwegian citizens.
